Financial Support

All research students are able to apply for Graduate Research Studentships offered by the school.  EU students are also able to apply for ESRC studentships.  These provide fees and subsistence for British Students, and fees only for students from other EU member countries.  Application have to be made by the end of April each year.  For 2005/6 the department is expected to have:

  • At least Two ESRC Studentships for students applying for the 1+3 programme, consisting of the MSc (Research) followed by MPhil/PhD Study.  These studentships are available to EU students only, and cover the EU level fees and subsistence for British Students, and EU Level fees only for students from other EU member countries. 
  • Students can also apply to the Radwan Travel and Discovery Fund.  This fund offers awards to research students seeking support for travel to undertake archive or other work relating to their thesis area.  

Students should also consult the School's Financial Support Office| to identify other scholarships for which they are eligible.
