Downloading the Softphone
Android and iOS
Once authorisation has been provided by a Departmental Manager, and following confirmation from Telecoms that functionality has been provisioned, nominated users need to use their personal iTunes or Google Play account to download the "Unity Client" application from Apple's App store or Google Play.
Note: Users will not incur any personal charges for the download of this application.
Windows
Download the Softphone installation file (exe). Open the .exe file. Accept the license agreement and click Normal installation. Choose a different location for the software if you wish and any options for creating shortcuts. Click Install to begin installing the software, clicking Next to continue and finish.
Mac
Download the Softphone installation file (zip). Open the .dmg file, then drag the "Unity Mac Desktop" file into Applications. Click on the icon to install. Accept the license agreement to begin using the software.
Logging in
When starting the Softphone, fill in the following information:
Username: Your LSE email address. For example A.N.Other@lse.ac.uk
Password: This will be the same as your Telephony Toolbar password.
This will normally have been emailed to you directly by the Telecoms team upon migration to the new telephony system.
For staff members who joined a department outside a migration cycle, this will have been provided at the time that you were provided with your new telephone services.
You may also select remember password and sign in automatically if you wish. Please note that remember password and sign in automatically should only be selected where you protect your phone by using a security code, to reduce the risk of fradulent use of the service in the event of phone loss or theft.
Click Sign In to log in and begin using the application.

Failed to retrieve configuration error message
The error message Failed to retrieve configuration may be displayed on the application when a staff member moves in and out of Wi-Fi ranges.
Simply click OK and the application will open.
Wi-Fi networks
This application works on the Eduroam WiFi network.
