The Paul Woolley Centre is pleased to announce that Zijun Liu, Yuki Sato, Gyorgi Venter and Piotr Zurawski have been awarded The Paul Woolley Centre Scholarship for 200910.
Zijun Liu is a 3rd-year PhD student at the Department of Finance, LSE. He received a BA in Mathematics and Masters in Financial Economics from Oxford University, before coming to LSE to start his PhD in 2007. His research interest lies in theories on the capital market, including its role, structure and behaviour, as well as macro-economic implications.
Yuki Sato is a 4th-year PhD student at the Department of Economics, LSE. He received a BA and MA in Economics from Keio University, Japan. He came to the UK in 2005, completing his MSc in Economics at UCL in 2006 and finishing his MRes in Economics at LSE in summer 2007. His research interests are in theories on capital markets e.g., bubbles, delegated portfolio management, and their implication for macro economy.
Gyorgy Venter is PhD student at the Department of Finance LSE. His research interests include asset pricing with market imperfections, strategic trading, liquidity and behavioural finance. Before joining LSE in September 2005 he received his BSc and MSc in Economics at Corvinus University, Budapest and studied mathematics at ELTE, Budapest.
Piotr Zurawskiis a 4th-year PhD student at the Department of Economics at LSE. Previously he studied at Warsaw School of Economics, where he received his Masters in Finance degree and worked for two years as a research assistant in the Department of Econometrics. Before coming to London, he worked for two years in the Financial Markets Division of the National Bank of Poland. His research focus lies in the microstructure of financial markets, capital market imperfections and inflation derivatives.
