Thesis Title: 'Criminalisation as a Strategy of the Indian Feminist Movement' [provisional]

Research Interests: constitutional law, criminal law theory, feminist legal and political theory, social movements, freedom of expression, South Asian studies

Mihira holds an LLM from Columbia University, New York, from where she graduated as a James Kent Scholar. Her undergraduate law degree is from the National Academy of Legal Studies & Research, Hyderabad. She is an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India, and has previously taught at the Jindal Global Law School. Her practice focus has been at the intersection of women’s rights, criminal law and constitutionalism. She has consulted with the Justice Verma Committee on criminal law reforms, as well as with UN Women and the Government of Tanzania. She is a regular commentator in the Indian and international media on social justice issues in India.
