The LSE has a long tradition of excellence in the field of commercial law. Renowned commercial lawyers who have taught at the LSE include  Lord Wright, Lord Chorley, Professor Lord Wedderburn, Professor Sir Ross Cranston, Professor Paul Davies QC and Professor Sarah Worthington QC. The LSE Law Department has a dedicated commercial law chair, the Cassel Chair in Commercial Law, presently held by Professor Michael Bridge FBA. Current members of staff  — including Professor Michael Bridge, Dr Jan Kleinheisterkamp, Dr Solene Rowan, Dr Jacco Bomhoff, Dr Jo Braitwaite, Dr Paul MacMahon, Dr Nick Sage, Dr Joseph Spooner and Dr Andrew Summers — offer a wide range of LLB and LLM commercial law options. The Department hosts regular seminars for academics and practitioners to discuss topical issues in commercial law.
