Funding Opportunities
Funded Doctorate in European Legal Cultures
The Law Department has joined with other leading European centres for the interdisciplinary study of law to offer a number of scholarships leading to a doctorate in the field of European Legal Cultures, which is understood to encompass the history, philosophy, sociology and anthropology of law. The LSE, the Ecole des Hautes Etudes in Paris, the Max-Planck Institute for European Legal History in Frankfurt and the Istituto di Scienze Umane in Florence have formed a consortium within the framework of the EU Marie Curie mobility scholarships programme with the objective of giving successful applicants the opportunity to follow a course of study based in three of the four participating institutions. Prospective applicants are advised to consult the official announcement of the programme and to read through the further particulars and application materials provided at the website of the Centre d'Etudes des Normes Juridiques of the EHESS: Informal advice may also be obtained from Alain Pottage at either r.a.pottage@lse.ac.uk or rap62@cornell.edu.
