Research

We are engaged in a wide range of research in topics ranging from the experiences of individuals as they use information technology, to the management of large organisational systems, and national and worldwide policies, trends and standards.

Research is located in small and medium sized companies; some of the largest companies in the world; banks and manufacturing firms; government departments; and political organisations. The approaches also range widely, from surveys and evaluation techniques to case studies, participant-observation methods and action research. Some research is focused on providing new techniques and methods to support the practitioner, other research on elucidating explanations of information systems (IS) phenomena, and some with understanding the underlying philosophical issues.

We host a range of research projects, funded from both government research funding and industry sponsorship, and are involved in many others.
