This presentation will briefly review the concepts of Corporate Governance, Information Technology Governance and Information security Governance , and will then position these 3 forms of governance in relation to each other. Also, it will present a model for Information Security Governance and will discuss the governance cycle, and highlight the 'direct' and 'control' parts of the cycle. It will then discuss a number of core components of Information Security Governance

S.H. (Basie) von Solms is a Professor in the Academy for Information Processing of the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. He was the Chairman of the Academy for Information Technology from 1978 to 2006 and is the current President of the IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing). The Professor specialises in research and consultancy in the area of Information Security and has written more than 80 papers regarding this field – most of which have been published internationally.
