Platforms for Knowledge Sharing
SSIT3 workshop Day 1: 24 April 2003
Alfred Steinhardt, Roche Pharma, Basle
Dynamic, team-based pharmaceutical organisations have a high demand for external and internal collaboration during the research, drug development and marketing processes. These collaborations are both synchronous and asynchronous. Collaboration types include intra-team, team functions, team affiliates and team-external business partner, requesting a wide array of technologies to guarantee seamless information exchange. Intranets serve as a platform for information sharing and communication, as well as platforms for information management, where portals provide single points of access to business critical information.
This presentation will focus on experiences gained and lessons learned during the deployment of such environments in a complex, team-driven organisation. ^
