This course is compulsory for the MSc in the Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems. It is available as an outside option to MSc Decision Sciences, MSc Management and other MSc students.
A basic knowledge of information technology is required. |

This course examines management and organisational issues involved in the introduction and operation of information and communications technology in organisations |

Course content |
The course analyses critically the opportunities and risks attached to the development and utilisation of information and communications technology in contemporary organisations. The aim is to inform future managers about the choices involved. Case studies are used to demonstrate the key issues.
Topics covered include:
IS strategy;
the management of risk;
IS, projects & organisational change;
IS and business process (out)sourcing;
role and governance of the IS function;
IT-enabled business process (re)design;
infrastructure;
IS evaluation

Classes are organised for discussion of case studies. There is also a mock exam in January shared with IS470 and IS471. |
