1. When can I apply?

You can apply from November for courses starting in October 2009.

2. What are the entrance requirements?

We normally expect students to have the equivalent of an upper second class honours degree or an equivalent overseas qualification (see Entry requirements in the Graduate Prospectus). We also have English language requirements for students whose first language of study is not English.

^

3. Do I have to have a GRE/ GMAT score?

No, we do not require you to take GRE/ GMAT exams.

^

4. What are the English language requirements?

For students whose first language is not English, the School has particular requirements for English.

  • TOEFL
(Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 603 in the paper test, 250 in the computer-based test or 100 in the internet based test. Full information on TOEFL and testing centres worldwide.

These are required because most assignments are essay-based and therefore you need to be competent particularly in written English. The School offers English Programmes both before courses start, for people who have not reached these levels, and throughout the year for students who wish to improve their English further.

5. What scholarships are available?

The Information Systems Group offers Graduate Support Scheme awards.

The Claudio Ciborra Scholarship is for a student who has been admitted to the ADMIS course, and is based on academic merit. The value of the scholarship is £5,000. No application is necessary as selection is made by the ADMIS admissions selector.

Details of other scholarships and financial support are available through the LSE Financial Support Office, in particular Taught Masters Funding.

6. What is the deadline for applications?

There is no deadline, but early application is advised. The course is usually full by April.

^

7. How quickly will I hear about my application?

At each decision stage, you will be sent an official letter informing you of a final decision (offer/reject) or an interim decision (waiting list). Your status will be kept updated on the online status tracker as well. The online status tracker is updated live with our computer system and is the most up-to-date source of information regarding your application available to us.

Decisions are published online first and are confirmed by letter within 28 days. You will be able to see the conditions of your offer on your application tracker.

8. How many places are there on ADMIS?

This year we aim to have 120 students on the course. ADMIS is a truly international course (there are students from 40 different countries and from every continent this year), enrolling students with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences and of all ages from early 20s to mid 50s.

9. I have an offer for this academic year. Can I defer it?

If you have an offer for admission for this academic year you can request to defer it until the next academic year. Applicants are only permitted to defer once. If an applicant fails to take up their place the following year they would need to reapply or reinstate their application. To request a deferment please complete the deferral request form before 31st October

The Graduate Admissions Office will retain all applications until 30 November. After this date, all unsuccessful, withdrawn or pending applications are destroyed. If you wish your documents to be retained and your application to be reinstated you must complete the reinstate request form before 30th November. You will be required to pay a further application fee and your application will be considered in the normal way for the following academic year.

10. Are there more details of the application process available?

The School has a web page describing each stage of the online application process in detail (see How do I... in the Graduate Admissions section).

^
