Outsourcing Services in the UK Public Sector - the Way Forward?
Leslie Willcocks ISIG, LSE
1500-1700 Tuesday 16 March 2010
Room NAB 1.15
The seminar reflects the provisional data gathering and ideas I have been doing to get insight into how the UK public sector is going to deal with the issues of efficiency and effectiveness in the area of business and IT (back-office) services - which cost over 35 billion a year, of which over £12 billion is already outsourced. I work through the sourcing options, some of the directions, failures and successes that have already merged, and discuss against findings from case study work, where public sector agencies will need to focus on if they are to deliver on the likely mandates of their political masters.
