In September 2009 Sage published the six volume set Major Currents in Information Systems (eds. Willcocks and Lee). This is a major attempt to represent the development and current state of IS scholarship. Here we classified IS work into Information Systems Infrastructure, IS Development, Design Sciences Theories and Research Approaches, Management of Information Systems, Social and Organizational IS Research, and IS Globalization and Developing Countries. This panel brings together three of the eleven editors of these volumes to discuss with the audience the decisions they made on what was representative of good IS scholarship, the scope of the field, and what they learned in the process of developing this major reference source. Eleni Lamprou will make the opening comments for the discussion. Please bring along your questions arguments and points of view.
