Who we surveyed

The 2004/5 Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey captured the destinations of LSE graduates who completed both full-time and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate courses with us between 1st August 2004 and 31st July 2005.

Who responded

A total of 1950 responses were received.

  • 75% of UK graduates responded
  • 50% of all EU graduates responded
  • 55% of non-EU overseas graduates responded (January DLHE survey only)

Average salary of LSE graduates, six months after graduation was £26,521

  • 67% of LSE graduates were earning over £20,000 

  • 46% of LSE graduates were earning over £25,000

  • 26% of LSE graduates were earning over £30,000

These figures take into account all respondents who have provided salary data including those undertaking part time employment, paid internships and are employed in developing countries for local salaries but excludes those who are unpaid.


LSE undergraduate and postgraduate destinations data

The following data allows us to look more closely at the destinations and salaries achieved six months after graduations by those who have completed a undergraduate/first degree at LSE (i.e. those undertaking a bachelors degree - BA, BSc, LLB) and those taking higher postgraduate courses (i.e. both taught and research - MA, MSc, MPhil/PhD).
