Focus on the Library

LSE Library entrance  LSE Library001

LSE Library002  LSE Library003

The British Library of Political and Economic Science is at the heart of the LSE - whether you come to LSE for a taught Master's or a Research degree, it will form an important part of your time here. As well as the Main Collection, the Library has a separate Course Collection (multiple copies of key reading list texts for LSE students) and several special collections. All collections held at LSE in the Library have been recognised for their outstanding national and international importance and awarded 'Designation' status by the Museums Libraries and Archives Council (MLA). The Library offers 24 hour access to it collections and quite study space during the busy exam period.

See Library website contains pages on its history, including an audio tour pod cast.

Within a short bus ride is the British Library - the national library of the UK - which holds every item published in the UK and Ireland. Both the building and its related online resources are invaluable to researchers from all disciplines.
