Providing documentary evidence - confirming your offer of admission
In order to fulfil the requirements for entry to LSE, we must have official proof, in English, of your qualifications, test scores and references. Check your application status online find out which documents are still outstanding. You should also be aware that all documents are non-returnable and must be received before you are due to register at the School.
Official proof of qualifications/degree certificates These must be either original documents or photocopies bearing an original stamp and signature of your institution certifying that the copy is accurate. Certificates should state that your degree has been awarded and show the date of the award to fulfil the official proof of qualifications requirements. Official final transcripts can be supplied instead of degree certificates so long as they confirm that your degree has been awarded and, if specified in your offer letter, the overall degree classification. Alternatively you may ask your institution to complete the proof of degree form which will confirm all the requirements we are looking for.
Transcripts If you have submitted an unofficial transcript with your application you may be required to submit and original or certified copy if made an offer. You may also be required to confirm that you have been awarded your degree with a specific mark or degree classification. If your transcript or degree certificate does not confirm this you should ask you institution to complete the proof of degree form.
GRE/GMAT TOEFL/IELTS scores such as GRE/GMAT/TOEFL/IELTS should be supplied directly to us from ETS (Institution code 0972. For GMAT -HMT 86-56), or you may submit a photocopy bearing the original stamp and signature of your institution or local British Council office certifying that the copy is accurate.
References should be original documents on the headed paper of the institution and must be signed. They should ideally be supplied in a sealed envelope with your referees signature across the seal to preserve confidentiality. If your referee originally submitted their reference online from a free email account ( e.g. hotmail, yahoo, gmail ) we will request an official version of this reference be submitted as a hard copy. If this is the case, an official letter simply stating that they did supply a reference is acceptable, provided that it is signed and written on the headed paper of their institution.
Translated documents should bear the stamp and signature of an official translator, and must be supplied with the original document or on the headed paper of your institution.
