Center for Research into Innovation, Culture and Technology at Brunel University, UK.
CRICT carries out research into the social and cultural dimensions of science and technology, with a particular focus on the dynamic relations between new technologies, new knowledge and social, cultural and organizational change. We aim to enrich understanding of these issues by drawing on a wide range of perspectives and styles from across the social sciences and humanities, and to use the insights gained from this research to contribute to topical debates in both academic and policy arenas.

Studies include projects concerned with complex organisational environments, such as control centres, news rooms and operating theatres, as well as more informal, public settings such as museums and galleries. Alongside their academic contribution, many of these studies are used to inform the design and deployment of innovative systems and advanced technologies.

Center for Theory at the University of Texas, Arlington.
The University of Texas at Arlington's Center for Theory is designed to facilitate the research and teaching of a growing number of faculty and graduate students interested in contemporary social and cultural theories. The Center serves as an interdisciplinary gathering point, bridging social sciences and humanities. Of particular interest is the impact of information and communication technologies on the self, society and culture. Indeed, we use these technologies to include scholars at other universities in the work of the Center, such as Doug Kellner at UCLA, Timothy Luke at Virginia Tech and Mark Poster at UC-Irvine. We aim to create a sense of intellectual community at UTA and to focus discussion on central social problems of the early 21st century.
The Centre for Media, Culture and History - at New York University.
The Center for Media, Culture and History is a collaborative project, drawing on faculty from the Africana Studies Program and the Departments of Anthropology, Cinema Studies, Comparative Literature, and History. We address issues of representation, social change, and identity construction embedded in the development of film, television, video and new media worldwide. Our focus on the role that these media play in shaping our perceptions of history and culture; in forging individual, collective, national, and transnational identities; and in mediating the direction and character of social change.
Centre for Cultural Research at the University of Western Sydney, Australia.
As a centre of excellence for the production and communication of knowledge, the CCR aims to address the cultural contradictions and challenges of contemporary society. Our research program focuses on the analysis and interpretation of 'culture' in an increasingly globalised, postmodern, heterogeneous and technologically-mediated world. 'Culture' today is less than ever able to be understood in terms of a taken-for-granted pool of shared values, common meanings and collective heritage, but more as an intense site of contestation and negotiation, fuelled by social, economic, historical and geographical divisions at local, national and global levels.
