On Tuesday 10th November the Cities Programme and the Olympic Park Legacy Company Legacy Now Team held a public debate on 'The First Legacy Games' at the Sheikh Zayed Theatre, New Academic Building (NAB) from 6.30-8pm, exploring the physical development of the Olympic Park after 2012 as well as the wider socio-economic benefits the Games aim to bring to East London, followed by a reception. You can listen to a podcast of the event by following this link: Public Lectures and Events: Podcasts - LSE Reordering the Olympic Site, an exhibition by Juliet Davis, Cities Studio Tutorial Fellow and PhD candidate, of maps and photographs documenting the former uses of the Olympic site and the pattern of their relocations was on display in NAB until Monday 16 November.
2008-09 James Stirling Memorial Prize winners Robert Mangurian and Mary-Ann Ray, principals of Studio Works Architects, Caochangdi, gave a public lecture on 'Beijing Inside Out: Caochangdi' at Sheikh Zayed Theatre on 19th October, followed by a reception. Robert Mangurian and Mary-Ann Ray held a masterclass for Cities Programme graduate students on Caochangdi, one of a series of masterclasses for Cities students this term, also given by Professor Ian Gordon, Professor Edward Soja and Professor Michael Storpor.
