LSE Parliamentary Internship Scheme

The LSE Parliamentary Internship Scheme has enjoyed success since its inception in 1998.  The Scheme matches LSE postgraduate students, from any of the School's social disciplines, with MPs, Peers, UK MEPs and various departments in the Houses of Parliament.

We are delighted that in our 10th anniversary year we have received messages of support from all the main political party leaders.

"I appreciate the opportunities that this type of scheme gives to young people and the importance of providing access to the political process.  I thank LSE for this initiative and wish you every success in the future"

The Rt Hon Gordon Brown MP, Prime Minister

"Internships can broaden horizons and provide a great introduction to the world of Westminster politics.  I also know that colleagues who have used the LSE Internships Scheme have benefited from the skills that its interns bring"

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP

"The Internships Scheme organised by LSE is an invaluable opportunity to gain an insight into the machinery of parliamentary politics.  I know that my colleagues who have hosted one of these high calibre students have in turn benefited from their contributions"

The Rt Hon Nick Clegg MP
