Recent awards
Ben Jones, Research Associate with CCS, has been awarded the 2009 Elliott P. Skinner Book Award by the American Anthropological Association. The award is in recognition of Beyond the State in Rural Uganda which was published this year by Edinburgh University Press http://www.eupjournals.com/book/0-7486-3518-1 The award is given by the Africa section of the American Anthropological Association (AAA) and recognizes work ‘that best furthers both the global community of Africanist scholars and the wider interests of the African continent.' Special consideration is given to works drawing upon extensive research in the field or advances new methodologies for fieldwork. Ben has been invited to collect his award at the Annual Meeting of the AAA in Philadelphia this December.
