Research Officer - International Governance of Synthetic Biology Part-time 17.5 hours per week BIOS Centre, LSE, Salary: £31,870 to £38,583 pa pro rata
We wish to appoint a post-doctoral Research Officer in the BIOS Centre for the Study of Bioscience, Biomedicine, Biotechnology and Society. You will be responsible for conducting a research project on the International Governance of Synthetic Biology, under the supervision of Dr Claire Marris and in collaboration with the Royal Society Science Policy Centre. You will help further the research and policy agenda of the BIOS Centre in its work on the social study of synthetic biology, which is being conducted in part through a partnership with Imperial College.
You will have a completed doctorate in an area related to the social studies of science or international governance, experience of conducting research projects, excellent writing skills and a developing record of scholarly social science research publications.
This is a part time post for 12 months in the first instance, however we welcome applications from candidates who would be in a position to increase their time commitment to the post if circumstances require.
