Since 2003 LSE Enterprise and Duke Corporate Education have had a joint venture to provide specialised custom executive education aimed at the business needs of companies throughout the world.
Entitled Duke Corporate Education and LSE Enterprise, the joint venture draws upon Duke Corporate Education for a business focus and the academic resources of LSE for a geo-political and economic focus. The joint venture enables the two organisations to provide robust programmes to meet increasingly complex global business problems. To date, the joint venture has designed and delivered several hundred successful programmes covering numerous industries across Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East.
LSE is the leading social sciences institution in the world. Duke CE has taken top honours for eleven straight years in the Financial Times rankings for customised executive education. By bringing together the strengths of two groups of world-class educators, the venture offers an unparalleled range of expertise across the fields of management, political science, and social sciences.
Working with Duke CE
'Soon after I joined the LSE in 2007, I was invited to work at Duke CE as a project manager for a small but exciting programme in leadership development for the board of an innovative technology firm. My three years since then have been an apprenticeship in learning how to create powerful learning experiences for clients in technology, banking, energy and pharmaceuticals – all of whom had an important, though separate, relationship with the LSE as well.
'I have worked at top US and UK business schools, but every day at Duke CE was an opportunity to learn something new in helping to solve issues in people development in global companies. Whether we were coaching real-life business projects, developing a case study on risk in the oil industry or teaching about corporate culture by playing competitive sports, the work was always rigorous, and the outcomes life changing.'
