Carlos Alexandre Nascimento holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in Brazil and a MPA in Public Policy and Management from LSE. He has professional experience both in the public and private sector.
His professional experience in the public sector includes his work in the São Paulo State and City Parliaments, supporting MPs in the formulation of public policies, legislation and budgetary amendments. He has also worked in the São Paulo City Government as Deputy Secretary for Labour, in charge of strategic management functions as well as economic development, employment, labour, conditional cash transfer and income generation policies.
In the private sector, he has worked as a consultant for business strategy and since 2003 has been a shareholder of the Brazilian company America Licensing. He now works as a consultant for public policy and management, leading LSE Enterprise's outreach in Brazil. His voluntary activities include being a coordinator of the São Paulo Chapter of the LSE Brazilian Alumni Association.
