This year we worked with over 40 of LSE's academic departments, research centres and units on topics such as health insurance, immigration, EU law, telecommunications, behavioural finance, public sector management, Spanish business and the Olympics. LSE academics received £1.95 million for their work on 149 projects, spanning consultancy, commercial research, executive education, talks and events. Thanks to our LSE colleagues, external associates and clients we are now able to make a gift aid payment to the School of £1.24 million for the year 11/12.
Hello, I’m Simon Flemington. I’m the chief executive of LSE Enterprise, that’s the commercial arm of the London School of Economics and Political Science. The role of LSE Enterprise is to make a connection between the academic institution and the outside world, applying the expertise of the academics and their research findings to organisations, governments and the third sector, both in the UK and across the world. If you’re interested in finding out more about our activities, whether that’s consultancy, commercial research or executive education, please visit our website to find out more.
LSE Enterprise has just finished financial year 2012. We worked with 375 academics from both inside and outside the LSE. We’ve completed 150 projects, ranging across five different continents. We’ve worked in subject areas from public health to urban policy, from management to public administration. After we’ve paid our academics and paid the costs of running LSE Enterprise, we’ve made a profit of £1.25 million that we’re now able to gift to the LSE.
The annual report gives you some further detail on some of these projects, and it also gives you the numbers. I hope you find it interesting. If you would like any further details, or would like to work with us in any way, please get in contact. Thank you.
