The September 2017 LSE Health - Market Access Academy has now drawn to a close. Present or future Access Leaders at the global product/brand stewardship level in pharmaceutical companies are invited to register their interest in one of the next programmes, 9 - 13 April / 10 - 14 September 2018. The programme was held over five days in London, at an LSE venue overlooking Lincoln's Inn Fields. There was a combination of speakers, case studies, group work, social events and networking opportunities. The covered topics included understanding access drivers and barriers, optimising access and value and defining an integrated evidence package, amongst others.

The keynote speaker was Managing Director of Science & Policy, from Denmark, Professor Finn Børlum Kristensen, M.D., Ph.D. Professor Kristensen is a consultant with advanced expertise in health science knowledge transfer to policy, value assessment, and building networks and he spoke at the Welcome Dinner on "What is the value of market access - now and the future?"

Sheela Updahaya the Associate Director - Highly Specialised Technologies at NICE also joined the Academy to provide a payor perspective and discussed “Rare Diseases –  Technology Access Challenges”.

LSE Health - Market Access Academy is a programme joining pharmaceutical management with advanced knowledge and strategies in market access. Access leaders gain a common grounding in market access; training in representative decision-making across the product life-cycle; and strategies to adapt to a changing landscape. The academy is held over five days and includes lectures, case studies, workshops and VIP guest speakers. Places are allocated via a selection process.
