Dr Rahul B. Hiremath

HiremathDr Rahul B. Hiremath was the Subir Chowdhury Fellow 2010-11 at the LSE Asia Research Centre.

He is currently acting as Dean (Academic and Research), at Walchand Institute of Technology (WIT), Solapur, India and adjunct faculty at  Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, India.

Dr Hiremath graduated in mechanical engineering and completed his Master's from BITS Pilani, India where after doctoral studies from Indian Institute of Science (IISc, Bangalore) India under Nobel laureates Prof N.H. Ravindranath (IPCC group). He has published sixteen papers in referred international journals to date. He was nominated as young professional programme of World Bank and also chosen as youngest researcher at Asian institute of Technology (AIT) Bangkok, Thailand to represent India.

Before joining as Dean, Academic and Research at Walchand Institute of Technology (WIT), Solapur, India, he was heading the corporate sustainability group and centre for excellence at Eaton technologies. During his tenure, he has was involved in three international projects. He has been invited by IIT Bombay, VNIT Nagpur and NITIE Mumbai, India for expert talks in the field of sustainability and climate change.
