Dr Sarthak Gaurav

Mr Sarthak GauravDr Sarthak Gaurav was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the LSE Asia Research Centre.

Sarthak worked on the Palanpur Research Project at the Asia Research Centre. He completed his PhD in Economics at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), and his thesis is titled Risk and Vulnerability of Agricultural Households in India. He was a Visiting Doctoral Scholar at Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 2011 and a Young Scientist at the International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Laxenburg, Austria in 2010. Sarthak has won two ILO Research Grants, a USAID Visiting Doctoral Fellowship and was nominated by the Reserve Bank of India for participation in the 4th Lindau Meeting of Nobel Laureates in Economic Sciences. Prior to joining IGIDR for his PhD, he worked as a Development Consultant at the Centre for Insurance and Risk Management at IFMR, Chennai.
