The aggressive monetary easing from the Bank of Japan has resulted in a sharp depreciation of the Yen and a rise in stock prices in Japan. Dr Kondo will examine if the risky strategy will succeed in raising potential output and boosting private sector demand.
Dr Masanori Kondo is a Senior Associate Professor of Economics at the International Christian University. He holds a BA from Tokyo University, MSc from LSE, MBA from LBS, and PhD from Stanford University. Before joining the faculty of the International Christian University in 1998, Masanori worked as an economist for India at the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank.
