Focus on India 2013: What is the value of a UK Education?

UK universities’ centuries-old tradition of excellence and an innovative approach to teaching makes the education system recognised and respected all over the world. The institutions in the UK are renowned for enabling overall personal development and career progression of its students. The key values imbibed include the freedom to be creative, through inspiration and guidance. The system highlights skills that are relevant and sought-after and encourages students to take responsibility for their own choices. This includes skills such as independence, flexibility, adaptability, awareness and altruism, all highly valued by employers. These skills are honed by an education system that thrives on a curriculum of flexibility and choice; excellence in research and innovation; quality assurance; multi-cultural learning and improved language and communication skills. Besides the class room learning, the exposure and engagement with the historical and cultural heritage that can be offered by Britain are sure to enrich the overall experience and abilities. These attributes developed through a UK education provide an edge in the global job market.

This panel will also discuss the value of UK education to the partnership with India.
