Financial Markets and Instruments Workshop

29 -31 January 2007, Mumbai

Dr Jon Danielsson delivered a number of lectures in this workshop, which was organised in co-ordination with the National Institute of Bank Management and the Reserve Bank of India.

Future of Central Banking Seminar

A Seminar on Future of Central Banking with a focus on Emerging Market Economies was organised in Mumbai during 23-24th January, 2006 together with Reserve Bank of India (National Institute of Banking and Management) (see slides|, program|). The key objectives were to enable the participants to:

  • Understand and discuss the critical issues and options for central Banking in emerging market economies
  • Gain insights into interaction between monetary authorities and financial markets
  • Develop skills to cope with challenges of evolving international financial architecture
  • Discuss and reflect upon institutions for effective Monetary Policy for designing optimal monetary policy strategies.

Sir Howard Davies gave the opening key note at this workshop. Professor Charles Goodhart delivered the lectures on Future of Central Banking.
