An MoU was signed with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to promote knowledge and exchange programmes to facilitate interaction on innovations and business practices. The first joint programme was a seminar organised in New Delhi on 22 March 2004. The key speakers were LSE Director, Howard Davies; Union Minister for Disinvestment, Communication and IT, Mr Arun Shourie; Director General designate of CII, Mr N Srinivasan; Professor Meghnad Desai, Emeritus Professor of LSE; and Planning Commission member Mr NK Singh.
LSE organised a workshop jointly with CII and the World Economic Forum (WEF) on 'India and the World 2025' scenarios in December 2004. The workshop was chaired by Ged Davis, Managing Director, World Economic Forum. The discussion centred around the following key issues:

How will India's relationship with the world impact on India's agenda?
