Recent awards

  • Professor Wim A. Van der Stede has won the 2009 Article of Merit Award selection by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) for "Enterprise Governance" published in CIMA's Financial Management (February 2009), pp. 38-40.

  • Professor Wim A. Van der Stede has won the 2009 Jim Bulloch Award for Innovations in Management Accounting Education, Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and Management Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association (AAA).

  • Professor Wim A. Van der Stede has received the 2008 'Article of Outstanding Merit' award from the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) for "The Pitfalls of Pay-for-Performance" published in ICAEW's Finance & Management (2007), pp. 10-13.

  • Doctoral candidate Yasmine Chahed was selected as the 2007 EAA Nominee to the AAA-Deloitte-J. Michael Cook 2007 Doctoral Consortium (Lake Tahoe, California).

  • Dr. Liisa Kurunmaki and Professor Peter Miller have won the John Perrin Best Paper Award for "Modernising Government: The Calculating Self, Hybridisation and Performance Measurement," Financial Accountability and Management, 22(1), 2006, pp. 87-106.

  • Professor Wim A. Van der Stede has won the 2007 AAA Notable Contribution to Management Accounting Literature Award for "Determinants and Effects of Subjectivity in Incentives," The Accounting Review, 79(2), pp. 409-436, co-authored with M. Gibbs, K. Merchant and M. Vargus.
