Management Accounting Research Group conference 2016

The 37th annual MARG Conference
Thursday 14 April 2016, London School of Economics and Political Science.

Theme for the 2016 conference: Management Accounting: Business Models and Cultures.

Speakers included:

  • Steve Maslin, partner at Grant Thornton, who discussed cultural change, business model shifts and their impact on accounting controls.
  • Professor Anette Mikes, HEC Lausanne, who discussed risk cultures and their role in business models.
  • Nick Read, Group Chief Financial Officer, Vodafone Group Plc.

  • Professor Robert W Scapens, Manchester Business School, who presented a field study on how culture affects the form of a business model adopted by an organisation.

 

Part of the costs of this event are being paid by the ICAEW’s Charitable Trusts.  These trusts support educational projects relating to accountancy and economics.
