LSE Strategy 2030

Our journey so far

I encourage everyone to get involved as your voices, opinions and experiences will help us shape an improved LSE of tomorrow.

Dame Minouche Shafik

In March 2018, LSE Director Minouche Shafik launched an open consultation on the School’s future strategy.

In considering the vision and direction of travel from now until 2030, the LSE community were asked questions spanning six strategic themes: LSE’s Founding Purpose, LSE Education, LSE Research, Global Engagement and Impact, Alumni Engagement and Staff Engagement.

The consultation closed in July 2018, with over 1800 online contributions from students, staff, alumni and friends of LSE. The consultation also saw over 600 participants at our town hall events and focus group sessions.

Over the summer the experiences, opinions and ideas shared as part of the LSE strategy consultation were collated and analysed. Emerging strategic themes and ambitions were discussed at events for students and staff in October and November of Michaelmas Term 2018.

Our next steps

  • The School Management Committee (SMC) will draft the strategy, shaped by your recent input, over the rest of 2018
  • Once completed, the strategy will be shared with the School community
  • Following refinement LSE 2030 will be launched in Spring 2019

There is still time to explore and share your views on the emerging strategic themes.

In January 2019 a new programme of engagement events will be launched, with sessions advertised in Student & Staff News.

If you have any questions, comments or feedback you’d like to discuss in the meantime, please contact lsefuture@lse.ac.uk or use the comments cards available across campus.
