Carlton Chen is a 2nd year PhD student in Time Series and Statistical Learning group in the Statistics department. He is expected to complete his degree by December 2021. His research is supervised by Dr. Xinghao Qiao and mainly about functional data analysis and machine learning. The project he is doing now is about functional time series in high dimensions.
Before his PhD, Carlton finished his undergraduate study in Statistics in China and then his master in Econometrics and Statistics in China and USA, respectively. Thus, his great enthusiasm in statistics and econometrics brings him to the path towards a PhD in statistics.
Carlton is a GTA in the Department of Statistics for ST102 and in the Department of Mathematics for MA107.
