Agnes Chew

Yunqian Agnes Chew, MSc Development Management

Agnes was a policy analyst at the Singapore Economic Development Board. Formerly Assistant Head of the International Organisations Programme Office, she engaged international organisations including the World Bank, Save the Children, and World Vision to develop effective public-private partnerships. She currently serves as volunteer writer for UN Women. Her debut nonfictional book, The Desire for Elsewhere, will be launched at the Singapore Writers Festival 2016. She holds a double degree in Economics and Business Management from Singapore Management University.

Coupled with her professional expertise, Agnes is eager to leverage the knowledge gleaned from her postgraduate programme at the LSE to make more significant contributions as she strives to co-design innovative, sustainable approaches to address social issues.

Darrell Lua

Lua Zheng Hao Darrell, MSc Finance and Private Equity

Darrell was previously a student at the University of London External Programmes (Singapore Institute of Management), majoring in Accounting and Finances. Besides his school curriculum, Darrell has taken part in many flagship events to inspire teenagers and has availed himself to help the needy by volunteering his services and organising events for them. He also takes part in ‘meet-the-people’ sessions as a Young People’s Action Party (PAP) member.

Darrell hopes that the postgraduate degree at the LSE will deepen his domain knowledge on finance, preparing him for a career in the financial services sector. Having started his year at the LSE, he is currently exploring the various options of starting a career in an investment bank or a consultancy firm. Darrell also aims to start a social enterprise someday.

Tan_Cheng Wei

Benjamin Tan Cheng Wei, MSc Management Science (Decision Sciences)

Before embarking on a postgraduate programme with LSE, Benjamin worked for International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, the Singapore government agency in charge of promoting international trade and partnering companies in going global. In his (over) two years there, he facilitated the growth of Singapore Oil & Gas related enterprises, mainly through strategic consultancy and overseas business development work. Benjamin holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Economics degree from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, pursued under a Singapore government undergraduate scholarship. He hopes the postgraduate degree will deepen his skills in industry and firm level analysis and diagnosis.
