The Philippines and China: Options for Resolving Overlapping Claims in the South China Sea

Before It Spread Like Wildfire: An archaeological perspective on slash-and-burn farming

On 21st March, we hosted two archaeologists from the Durham University and the University of Cambridge to present their research on slash-and-burn farming and its relation to the Southeast Asian haze to an audience of people from a non-archaeological background.

Borneo Burning: Deforestation, El Nino, Reforestation

On 3rd February Dr Roger Montgomery gave presentation on the effects of El Nino and deforestation on forest fires in Indonesia in 2015. Contrasting this, he discussed a successful NGO project of poverty eradication that involved tree planting as a method.
