Filippo Dionigi specialises in Middle Eastern international relations and has carried out research on the impact of international norms on Islamist politics especially with reference to Hezbollah.

Presently he is developing a research project on the prospective hydrocarbon economy of Lebanon and a compared study of Islamist governance in the Middle East.

He is writing a book tentatively titled ‘Hezbollah, Islamist Politics and International Society.
