About me

My current research is on the work of George Birkhoff, and in particular the development of dynamical systems theory. I am also working on British mathematics of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and have recently completed a study on the responses of Cambridge mathematicians to the First World War. My other projects include editing the 1915-1916 diary of a pacifist Cambridge mathematics student, FP White, and the mathematical models of Olaus Henrici, the Danish-born German mathematician who made his career in London.
