Typical recruitment process

By applying for a professional services role at the LSE we know from the outset that you are passionate about your work and are committed to delivering an excellent level of service. If you weren’t, you probably wouldn’t be considering us as the right place for your next career move.

We take all applications to work at the LSE very seriously. There may be some variances in recruitment and selection methods, as appropriate to the role and the area of work, but there will be some things all our recruitment processes will have in common.

You can expect that your CV and covering letter will be read carefully and considered fully and fairly. You can expect to be judged on what you tell us about how you meet the competencies for the role – nothing less and nothing more. If shortlisted for a role, you can expect to be invited to an interview, which is as much an opportunity for you to decide if the LSE is right for you as for us to assess whether you are right for the LSE. You can be assured that the recruitment process will be a fair and objective one. The LSE positively encourages a diverse and inclusive workforce, with excellence at its core.

Once you have found the right vacancy for you via our LSE Jobs Search Engine, an outline of the specific recruitment process for that role will be outlined in the vacancy details.
