Pay
We believe our salaries are competitive within the UK university sector. Staff are paid monthly. LSE is committed to a high-performing culture, so all academic staff pay is contribution-related.
Starting salaries for Assistant Professors are £51,908 per year as at 1 August 2014. There is usually a ‘cost of living’ increase each year, which is set nationally.
Pensions
Academic staff will normally be automatically enrolled into the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) in the relevant section. Both sections of the Scheme are "defined benefit", meaning that the pension you receive is based on a set formula known at the point of saving.
