Dr. Tony Cornford is Senior Lecturer in the Information System and Innovation Group of the Department of Management at the LSE. He has research interests in various aspects of healthcare information systems and has published studies on telehealth, technology and health policy, electronic prescribing systems, evaluation, and healthcare infrastructures. Beyond the area of health he has research interests in e-Government and open source development processes. He is presently a member of two teams undertaking evaluations of key aspects of the NHS National Programme for Information Technology (NPfIT) funded by the Connecting for Health Evaluation Programme. The first is an evaluation of the Electronic Prescribing Service, and the second an Evaluation of the National Care Records Service in secondary care. He is also currently undertaking a consultancy study for Connecting for Health to establish the lessons that can be learned from the various previous implementations in the UK of electronic prescribing in secondary care settings.
