Dr Mrigesh Bhatia is a Lecturer of Health Policy in the Department of Social Policy and Course-Director for MSc Health Policy, Planning and Financing. He is medical graduate with an MD in Preventive and Social Medicine (Bombay) and PhD in Health Economics from University of London. His previous teaching experience was in India first as Lecturer at Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital, Bombay and subsequently as Reader in the Dept. of Health Services Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
Dr Bhatia was a post-doctoral fellow in the Population Dynamics Department of John's Hopkins School of Public Health, Baltimore, USA; Honorary Lecturer at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; Advisory Committee member of National STD control program, India; Member of the Direction Co-ordination Committee of the Malaria Control and Research Project, India; and consultant to various international organisations.
His current research interests are in health policy and health care systems issues in developing countries; and economic evaluation of health care programmes in developing countries.
