Dr Liisa Kurunmäki is Reader in Accounting in the Department of Accounting, and a Research Associate of the ESRC Centre for the Analysis of Risk and Regulation (CARR) at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is also a member of LSE Health management group. Liisa joined LSE as a Lecturer in 1999, and holds an MSc and a PhD from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Prior to joining LSE, she was a Lecturer in Accounting in the Department of Accounting and Business Method, and an Associate Research Fellow of the Institute of Public Sector Accounting Research (IPSAR) at the University of Edinburgh. She has held visiting positions in Ca'Foscari University of Venice, and in the Economic and Social Research Institute in Dublin. Her research focuses primarily on the accounting aspects of the public sector reforms. She has analysed in particular the consequences of the encounter between accounting, accountants and non-accountants such as medical and social care professionals.
