Biography

Katie McClain is a Public Policy Consultant at LSE Health.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Policy and Administration from the Pennsylvania State University and an MSc in Health Policy, Planning and Financing from The London School of Economics (LSE) and The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

Katie has extensive experience in healthcare consulting, working to optimize revenue cycle processes in over 14 hospitals in the United States.   In this role, she identified people, process and health technology issues in order to streamline hospital operations.  Prior to consulting, Katie worked in procurement at Siemens Healthcare, managing all mammography, urology, mobile x-ray and accessory orders for the Midwest region in the US. 

Katie’s research interests span from improving health system performance to refugee health in the Middle East. This past summer, she evaluated how providers define maternal care in UNRWA Palestinian refugee camps. Additionally, she is also dedicated to raising awareness about maternal mortality rates and deriving solutions to decrease healthcare disparities for mothers across the globe through developing and leading a non-profit called Delivering Hope.
