Overview

The NIHR School for Social Care Research is one of the leading funders of research into adult social care practice in England, and its mission is to develop the evidence base for adult social care practice by commissioning and conducting world-class research. You can read more about it here.

Research activities

SSCR is working to ensure high-quality evidence exists to help social care develop - now and in future. Phase II is now underway with several new projects to be commissioned shortly.

Who's who

Led by Professor Martin Knapp (LSE, pictured), the SSCR is a partnership between six leading social care research centres in England and many more universities and other organisations.

Generating impact

Research must be translated into practice to ensure the research we fund has real impact. Findings are presented at major conferences, reaching a wider audience.
