New research led by Prof Kanavos studied the significant impact of MS on the health and wellbeing of both people with the disease, and their caregivers, along with its broader socio-economic impact. Results confirmed that there is an urgent need to achieve better outcomes for people with MS and the evidence suggests that this is possible if policy makers address three key issues: Improve the quality of care and health outcomes for every person with MS; Generate further robust evidence to inform decision making; Increase the responsiveness of health care systems to new evidence on MS.
