Since 2008, our staff have published more than 842 peer-review journal articles and 241 books, reports and chapters in edited books. We also work to ensure coverage in non-academic outlets – such as trade papers and magazines and through websites, media releases, presentations  – to ensure we communicate to as wide an audience as possible, particularly in terms of reaching research users and participants. Our work has often been cited in important government and other policy documents.

We are involved in coordinating one peer-review journal, Health Economics, Policy and Law (published by Cambridge University Press), which is informally affiliated with LSE Health. LSE Health also publishes the policy bulletin Eurohealth, which is disseminated to more than 20,000 academics and policy-makers.

LSE Health, PSSRU and SSCR produce regular outputs providing information on their activities. LSE Health also publishes a successful Working Paper Series in Health Policy and Economics.

Highlight: Community Capital: The Value of Connected Communities

The RSA has launched its latest report, Community Capital: The Value of Connected Communities. The final report, from the Big Lottery funded Connected Communities programme, which includes contributions from PSSRU's Martin Knapp and A-La Park, is based on five years of community engagement and research with people in seven locations around the country, including partners at the University of Central Lancashire.

You can download the report here and read a blog introducing the work here.

Latest issue: Eurohealth Volume 22 Number 1

Edited by Sherry Merkur, Anna Maresso and David McDaid, this issue’s Eurohealth published by the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies  (in which LSE Health is a partner), examines the changing role of nursing, including articles on the state of nursing in the European Union, nurse migration, EU accession and nursing, and whether there an EU framework for nurse education. Other articles include: Health priorities of the Dutch EU Presidency; Implementation status of the cross-border care directive; Making sense of EU health law; Managed entry agreements in the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania); What does the Euro Health Consumer Index tell us; and Eurohealth Monitor.

Latest issue: Health Economics Policy and Law

This issue starts with original research articles on health care mergers (by Jeroen Postma and Anne-Fleur Roos), on switching in health insurance markets (by Daniëlle Duijmelinck and Wynand van de Ven), on the impact of Dutch health care reforms (by Hans Maarse, Patrick Jeurissen and Dirk Ruwaard), on prescription drug costs in the EU (by Eleanor Brooks and Robert Geyer), and on the regulation of primary care in the US (by Michael Richards and Daniel Polsky).

There is then a response from David Chinitz and Avi Israeli to a previously published article on health care in Israel that was written by Dani Filc and Nissim Cohen, and a response to the response by the original authors.

The issue finishes with a review article by Paul McCrone of a book on the rise of ADHD treatment that was written by Stephen Hinshaw and Richard Scheffler.
