Venue: NAB 2.14, LSE
Jeff has recently stepped down as National Director for Social Care Transformation, a role promoting the Putting People First (‘personalisation’) agenda across local government and the social care sector in general. He was previously Director of Adult and Community Services at the London Borough of Richmond for 7 years.
Overall Jeff has worked in local government around the areas of social care, health and housing for over thirty-six years. Having started his working life in the NHS with stroke patients, he subsequently worked for seven local authorities and the LGA before taking up the national role. He is currently working in an advisory capacity to the Think Local, Act Personal partnership, as well as other projects.
In the late 1990′s Jeff’s was a primary carer to his sister, and for several years managed her health and social care ‘direct payments’ and the community-based support she needed in the years before her death. This experience forged his belief in the need to ‘personalise’ and fundamentally change arrangements around delivery of care and support services.
