Working Groups of the LSEE Research Network on Social Cohesion

Activities

Our members participate in a wide variety of activities that take place both in the region and in other countries throughout Europe.

Network members are busy researching topics that contribute to promoting social cohesion throughout the region, and are divided into four main working groups: labour markets, education systems, social protection and decentralisation, all with a focus on providing original research evidence for policy makers to develop effective policy responses to the worsening social situation.

Labour Markets Working Group

Headed by Professor Mihail Arandarenko (University of Belgrade), the Labour Markets Working Group members aim to promote fundamental independent research into issues of labour markets in the SEE region, covering policy themes such as employment, job creation and skill mismatches among others.

The Group was founded in order to study the important topic of decentralisation from an interdisciplinary and broader, regional perspective.
The major goals of the Group are to:

- Bring together researchers on decentralisation from SEE for closer cooperation;- Network internally and externally;

- Further develop and expand the researchers’ expertise;

- Join the research capacities and efforts in order to put decentralisation on the regional research and policy agenda;

- Increase the Group members’ joint research prospects, publishing potential, visibility, and policy impact.
